OpenCoffee is a weekly meetup for SacStarts. Drop in and grab a seat. Bring your laptop and get some work done while you meet with other local entrepreneurs, investors, and technologists. It's not important who shows up -- just that people know that on any given day they can stop by and bump into others.

It seems that a great many entrepreneurs are toiling away at home or in offices by themselves. I've been working mostly from home for nearly 7 years, and I love the freedom it offers. I can pick my kids up from school, take them to baseball practice, and even take some time to see a movie or grab lunch with a friend.

But I often miss the daily interaction with other people. In an office setting, surrounded by other people, dozens of short conversations happen daily in a way that's not possible via IM and the phone.

The earliest moments of SacStarts were Scott and I having coffee together. Sitting down and being able to chat about betas, financing, servers, and other issues facing our startups. We wanted other people involved, and ended up with the dinners that evolved into SacStarts.

It's my hope that you'll meet and bond with others and build the sorts of relationships that strong networks are made of.
