DMGI on iTunes

Digital Music Group has acquired a large catalog of older video content lately. The video, which ranges from Hopalong Cassidy to Mr. Bill, isn’t something you can sell on a mass scale, but there’s certainly a niche audience who’s interested.

Today, DMGI announced a deal with Apple to sell their video through the iTunes store. Under the deal, Apple will pay DMGI wholesale prices for every video downloaded through iTunes.

DMGI’s stock rose almost 10% on the news.

DMGI on iTunes

There are some Hopalong Cassidy clips already on youtube posted by the show's fans. But the viewing numbers are very low for these type of clips.
It appears to me that DMGI buys content that nobody else wants. The question remains, can they make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
