Verizon boosts wireless net speeds

Sacramento-area users of Verizon’s wireless broadband cards will be getting a faster connection, according to the Business Journal.

The new, faster technology allows for uploading eight or nine times faster than the existing wireless broadband. Download speeds have improved to 600 kilobites per second and upload speeds are 500-800 kilobites per second for documents up to 1.4 megabits, meaning a 1 Megabyte document could be downloaded in eight seconds and uploaded in 13 seconds.
